Benefits of Yoga Yoga helps with stress, back pain, metabolism, arthritis, anxiety, insomnia, posture, clarity, memory, focus, strength, flexibility, depression, digestion, endurance, balance, and overall better health and happiness
Why do Yoga? EveryBODY can do Yoga, no matter your age, strength; flexibility yoga is truly a gift that we can all benefit from! Yoga has changed my life in so many ways. I lived a very athletic lifestyle, with a strong focus on outdoor activities before starting Yoga. Even with my healthy active lifestyle, I dealt with anxiety, trouble sleeping, and daily back pain for years. Two years into my Yoga practice I realized I had absolutely no back pain after being diagnosed with L4, L5 bulging disk and 8 years of chronic pain. I now sleep soundly. Physically and mentally Yoga has turned out to be the perfect balance for both my body and mind. My goal is to share this amazing balance with others. I believe we can all create more awareness through Yoga, and living a healthier, happier lifestyle.
Sports & Yoga I believe that fitness enthusiast of all kinds can experience the benefits of Yoga by allowing greater balance throughout their body. As an athlete, I have seen the benefits of yoga first hand. I am still amazed that although I am unable to participate in the sports I love as frequently as I did before motherhood, I still find myself progressing in my sports. I believe this is due to my daily Yoga practice. Yoga helps to strengthen the core muscles in your torso, especially those that support the spine. Keeping the spine flexible, strong and healthy will not only improve your postural alignment but will allow your body to move in a more natural state. Yoga gives the body freedom to perform at its best, move quicker, with greater strength and awareness, and helps prevent injuries. I have also had the honor of sharing this gift of Yoga with a few High School athletic teams. It was the most amazing experience to see these young athletes move with greater awareness with each practice as they became more mindful of their breath and movement as one. I believe Yoga can decrease the number of injuries in our sports by improving balance flexibility, strength, postural alignment, agility, and mental focus.
What does Namaste mean? At the end of each class with my hands at my heart I will bow and say Namaste… for me this simply means the everything in me honors the everything in you! However, I believe that Namaste can be whatever you want it to be, I’ve heard so many amazing definitions…for some it simply means “Thank You”.
